Under this project, Yiaga Africa will mobilize citizens using traditional and digital tools to build consensus on priority issues for electoral reform. This will be accompanied by an elaborate strategy to galvanize support of legislators for the proposed amendments. In addition, professional organizations, traditional and religious groups and civil society organizations will be equipped with operational and political tools for effective electoral reform advocacy through workshops, roundtable and training sessions.

The project is a direct intervention aimed at reforming Nigeria’s electoral process to reverse the declining quality of elections. The project adopts a citizens-led and human rights-based approach in advocating for constitutional and electoral reforms. Ultimately, the project will strengthen democratic institutions like INEC, political parties, judiciary, media; foster electoral justice and accountability and more importantly safeguard the citizens right to democratic participation.
